Finally a plasma with a Energy Star rating May 01, 2010 I purchased this TV for two main reasons. First reason was that it is Energy Star rated. Plasmas have taken a while to get there but finally got it done or at least Panasonic did. The first generation of plasmas produced to much heat for my liking.Watching TV should not require that you turn on a heater as well. I have blankets to keep me comfortable. Second reason was the rating that Consumer Reports gave this plasma as well as the ratings for most of the Panasonic line of plasmas.Picture quality is excellent. Audio quality is not the greatest but I will be able to spice it up.
It's ok. Apr 15, 2010 This is my second flat screen TV and it's ok. It must be an older model that has not yet been updated but it's a bit dated looking from the back. The other TV I have is a SAMSUNG PN50B650 and it's way better, easier to use and a great picture. This Panasonic it's ok, picture is very good in 1080 but ok when it's less. The reason I got it was because it is highly rated.
Inredible Picture Quality / Some Features Could Be Better Apr 04, 2010 You will not find a better picture quality in the price range, the only equal quality TV's I have found were 2-3 times as much in price.
I don't like how the audio out changes the sound format, however running the digatal audio directly from your DVD, etc. to your receiver is the way to go anyways.
I waited years to find a TV that I thought was worth buying, this is an incredible TV. HD Broadcasting is still far behind, I am disapointed in how HD still changes the display size, however this has nothing to do with the TV itself.
Video on Demand works great. The only other comment is what others have said, I wish they put a quick button on the remote to change the display type, i.e., Vivid, Custom, THX, etc.
Blu-ray is astonishing.

Order cancelled by Home Theater Feb 20, 2010 I had the same experience as the guy from California 'sept that I'm in Connecticut. I ordered a Panasonic TC-p42G15 Feb 5 via Amazon to be shipped from Home Theater Store for the price of $736. Promised to arrive in 5 days. I completed checkout, payed with a credit card, and received a confirmation email from Amazon. This was the lowest price I had found anywhere for this TV, by far. Today I checked to see where my TV was (Feb 19!) and was told they oversold and the TV is not available and was replaced by the Panasonic TC-p42G25, which they would not ship as a substitute without $200-$300 extra. I wasted a lot of time waiting for these guys to ship and eventually they cancelled the order. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM HOME THEATER STORE. THAT'S 2 OF US WHO HAVE BEEN SCREWED BY THEM.

bad seller return policy Feb 18, 2010 I bought this item thru Amazon which farmed it out to an outfit call 6th ave. it arrived on time in seemingly good shape. we waited to try and find an installer before actually opening the box. installers quote cost more than tv so we decided to put it in bedroom rather than mount on wall in living room. the tv has a band approx 2 inches wide from top to bottom on the left side. it is always there on power on, but sometimes goes away.
when contact 6ave for service or return, told tv's bigger than 37" not returnable and later than 30 days anyway. so go away and call panasonic.
i advise anyone to not buy any tv thru amazon or 6ave if this is the service you get.
the non return policy on big screens is particularly disgusting and hidden condition.
if i had known this, the truck would not have left until i had checked tv worked!
i will post another revoew on my experience with panasonic.
BEWARE 6ave - in my opinion they are not a legitimate organization when you hide behind fine print on $1,000 purchases.
